
Ravi Pendse
Dr. Ravi Pendse is the Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer at the University of Michigan, appointed in August 2018. He provides university-wide leadership and strategic direction for IT, leveraging his extensive experience as a university leader. Previously, he held CIO roles at Brown University and Wichita State University. An accomplished educator and researcher, Dr. Pendse has secured over $21 million in research grants, developed courses, and published numerous scholarly articles. He serves on several advisory boards, including Microsoft Higher Education and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. In 2023, he was named U-M’s Special Advisor to the President for India, promoting engagement with alumni and industry leaders in India. Dr. Pendse holds a B.S. from Osmania University and an M.S. and Ph.D. from Wichita State University. He is known for his transformational leadership, excellent communication skills, and passion for teaching and emerging technologies.
